Jack of Clubs – Young Water Seller
In the old days, during the summer heat, boys with clay jugs on their shoulders walked the dusty and noisy streets offering cold water to passersby. Every day you could hear them singing out: "Water, cold Yerevan water!" Today, young water sellers no longer walk the streets of Yerevan, but their memory remains.
The sculpture Young Water Seller ("Cool Yerevan Water") is a collective image of the old Yerevan water carrier.
Located at the corner of Beirut and Khorenatsi Streets. Installed in 1970.
Authors: architect Spartak Knteghtsyan and sculptor Hovhannes Bejanyan.
Jack of Hearts – Melancholy
Yervand Kochar is the "inventor" of a new form of artistic and plastic expression known as "Painting in Space" — a type of three-dimensional art where time becomes the fourth dimension. One of his works in this style is the sculpture Melancholy.
The sculpture, installed in 1959, is located at 1/3 Pavstos Buzand Street (in front of the Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art).
Author: sculptor Yervand Kochar.
